Metro Redux coming to Nintendo Switch next month

Deep Silver and 4A Games are bringing Metro Redux to Nintendo Switch, a double pack which contains definitive versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light.

Based on the Metro 2033 novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the games are set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow that’s been ravaged by nuclear strikes, with players taking on the role of one of the survivors who live in the tunnels of the city’s underground rail network. As well as both the 2033 and Last Light campaigns, Redux comes with all DLC from the latter title, offering a further 10 hours of single player content.

Players can approach the campaigns in one of two modes; Survival, in which you’ll experience the game “as a slow burn survival horror” due to the lack of ammunition and filters for your gas mask, or Spartan, where these items are more prevalent.

​The boxed edition of the game comes with both campaigns and DLC on a single 16GB cartridge, while those who want to buy the digital version will be able to download Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux individually from the Nintendo e-Shop.

There’s no word on whether the final instalment in the series, Metro Exodus, is coming to Switch.

Metro Redux is out 28 February on Nintendo Switch.
