The first Shadow of War gameplay footage has been released by Warner Bros. giving us a detailed look at some of the game’s new features. We also get a look at the new Followers feature, a mechanic that will create unique tales of loyalty, betrayal and revenge. Players can now ‘recruit’ enemy captains into their personal Orc army during encounters, simultaneously increasing their strength and weakening a fortresses' defences. Followers will assist players during battle by taking out enemy captains and distracting larger foes during boss fights, and you can choose to reward loyal companions by placing them in command of captured fortresses where their individual attributes will offer unique rewards.
For example, a Necromancer can defend a captured fortress with sorcery to terrify and confuse enemies, a Beast Master can utilise the creatures of Mordor, while a Marauder will loot and pillage a region for players. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is out 25 August on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Let us know your thoughts on the new gameplay footage below. Leave a Reply. |
