Mortal Kombat 11 Winter Wonderland event kicks off today

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios are celebrating the festive season with a series of themed events for their brawler, Mortal Kombat 11.

The Winter Wonderland and Ring in the New Year tower events will be available through the game’s Towers of Time mode for free, with the former going live today (22 – 27 December) and the latter following just after (28 December – 2 January). During these free events, players can earn new skins for fighters, module pieces and “holiday-specific konsumables.”

The Winter Wonderland event will feature “three Towers with holiday-themed modifiers in the form of falling Killer Kanes, Sledding Tarkatans, Parachuting Ginger Deadmen, Exploding Snowmen, Christmas Trees, Menorahs, Dreidels and Shooting Stars,” while Ring in the New Year allows players to “usher in the new decade with party-themed modifiers, including a Disco Ball, Champagne Bottles, Party Poppers, Fireworks and a Digital Countdown Clock."

​Both events will also feature “an array of celebratory modifiers” and various in-game rewards.

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, Stadia and PC.
