New mode revealed for Deus Ex Mankind Divided

8/6/2016

The pre-E3 news train continues with the announcement of a brand new mode - Breach. An addition to the augment-em-up gameplay of the main single player campaign, Breach lets Adam Jensen take a break as you take on the role of a Ripper, a type of hacker who doesn’t just punch a few keys on a keyboard to break into a system, but jumps in and takes on the fight head on.

In a manner reminiscent of The Matrix and even Inception, your Ripper will jack into a hostile system and progress through it as if it were a first-person shooter experience, using a digital avatar.
The trailer (above) shows off the mode’s distinct visual style, which is very much in keeping with the style of its parent game. The mode seems to consist of a series of ever increasing challenges, in which you’ll face off against digital interpretations of mechs, turrets and other enemies in your search for the truth (or data, as a layman may call it).

Here's some more images for your perusal:

There’s plenty of familiar additions thrown into the mix to give things a more customised feel, players can introduce infections which increase the level’s difficulty in a specific way (not unlike Halo’s skull modifiers) and you can challenge your friends to beat your score on specific maps.
There’s also going to be a mobile game, called Deus Ex Go, which shares many similarities to Hitman Go and is described as a ‘turn-based infiltration puzzle game’.
What do you make of these latest additions to the world of Deus Ex? Does Breach make you more likely to give Mankind Divided a go when it’s released on 23 August on Xbox One, PS4 and PC? Let us know in the Forums.
