Nintendo Switch update adds video capture, other new features

The latest update for Nintendo Switch (version 4.0.0) is rolling out now and one of the biggest new features is the ability to capture and share gameplay

Holding down the capture button will record a maximum of the last thirty seconds of gameplay and save it in the album. You can then trim the beginning and end of the clip, before sharing to Facebook or Twitter.

This feature is currently only compatible with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2.

You'll also have the option to transfer your user and save data to another console. However, once you've done that, the data will no longer be available on the original console, meaning it can't be used as a way to backup your data.

Other additions include twelve new user icons from Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, a pre-purchase option on the Nintendo eShop allowing players to pre-load future titles so they're ready to play upon release, and an updated news channel.
