Resident Evil 3 demo out Thursday, Resistance mode beta begins later this month

Capcom will allow players to go hands on with their highly anticipated Resident Evil 3 remake when a demo for the game launches later this week.

The Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo will be available to download on Xbox One, PS4 and Steam from 19 March and stars protagonist Jill Valentine as she attempts to evacuate civilians from a doomed Raccoon City. It sounds like Carlos Oliveira will also be making an appearance, along with Nemesis, the hulking bioweapon that’s determined to kill Jill. Upon the demo’s completion, players will be rewarded with a new cinematic trailer.

While working through the demo, players can also attempt to complete a bonus challenge of finding and destroying Mr. Charlie statues, with a total of 20 to locate.

​Later on in the month Resi fans will also be to try the open beta for the game’s asymmetrical 4 vs 1 multiplayer mode, Resident Evil Resistance, which is set to begin on 27 March.

Participants will be able to play as either Daniel Fabron, one of the game mode’s four Masterminds, or as a Survivor.
The former is able to set traps, utilise bioweapons and generally make life harder for the latter group, who have to team up and use their unique abilities in order to try and escape the Masterminds’ devious experiments.

Resident Evil 3 is out 3 April on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
