After two days of teasers Rockstar Games have officially confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be releasing next year. We’ll get our first glimpse of the game this Thursday when a new trailer will be unveiled.
A sequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption has been rumoured for a while. Earlier in the year the game's map was supposedly leaked, before quickly being taken down. At the time, Techradar claimed that a source close to the development of the game had confirmed its legitimacy, but there's been no official word as of yet. Last year, someone claiming to be an ex Rockstar employee posted a thread on Reddit, stating that the game will be a prequel to Red Dead Redemption.
He went on to say that Seth and Irish, characters from Redemption, would be two of the game's three protagonists. All of this should be taken with a pinch of salt as there's no way to verify these claims and the source also mentioned that the game would carry the subtitle "Legends of the West", which doesn't seem to be the case. Hopefully we'll have some solid details soon. The trailer is due to release on Thursday at 4pm. Excited about Red Dead Redemption 2? Share your thoughts with us in the forums or comments below.
