Today, Warner Bros. and Monolith released the free Nemesis Forge update for Shadow of Mordor on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The new mode lets you carry over some of your personalised story to Shadow of War by working out who was your most loyal follower and which enemy gave you the most aggro throughout your playthrough. If you’ve already played Shadow of Mordor, selecting the Nemesis Forge mode at the game mode menu allows the game to automatically work out who is your greatest friend and foe, while new players can begin forging their own rivalries/friendships by selecting the mode before beginning a playthrough.

To celebrate the release of the update, Shadow of Mordor is currently discounted by up to 80% on PS4, Xbox One and Steam for the next few days, while those who own either of the latter two platforms can also try the game for free until 9 July.
 
While this update is great news for those who were hoping to take at least some part of their adventures in Shadow of Mordor into the sequel, it’s worth noting that Nemesis Forge mode will not be available on Mac and Linux operating systems, while all platforms in Japan miss out entirely.
