​Shenmue hit the Dreamcast in 1999 before the sequel made its way to Xbox in 2001. Neglected fans would then spend close to two decades requesting a sequel and/or a remaster from SEGA, before both wishes were finally granted in recent years.

Cited as the inspiration for the Yakuza franchise and many more classic titles, the Shenmue games were (and still are) insanely detailed for their time. Boasting deep open-world gameplay and a central story of revenge, there's nothing else exactly like the Shenmue experience.
