Unfortunately, you might have trouble securing a pre-order, as many retailers have already sold their allocation. It's been confirmed that the console will be in production until the end of the year, however, so everyone should have a fair chance.

Regardless, the console seems to have attracted a lot of attention, with scalping prices on eBay reaching £200.

Speaking to Kotaku, a spokesperson for Nintendo stated: "We aren’t providing specific numbers, but we will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of NES Classic Edition… Super NES Classic Edition is currently planned to ship from Sept. 29 until the end of calendar year 2017. At this time, we have nothing to announce regarding any possible shipments beyond this year."

The SNES Mini comes with 21 classic titles built in, including:

  • Contra III: The Alien Wars
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • Final Fantasy III
  • F-ZERO
  • Kirby Super Star
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Mega Man X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Star Fox 2
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid
  • Yoshi’s Island

The UK/US version will have these five exclusives:

  • Earthbound
  • Kirby's Dream Course
  • Street Fighter 2' Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Castlevania 4
  • Super Punch-Out

Whilst the Japanese version will instead contain:

  • Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  • The Legend of Mystical Ninja
  • Panel de Pon
  • Super Soccer
  • Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers

It's worth noting that in order to play Star Fox 2, players will have to first complete the opening level of the original Star Fox.

The SNES Mini comes with two controllers, the cables to which are five feet long.

The console is scheduled to release 29 September and will set you back £69.99.
