State of Decay 2 release date and pricing details revealed

The release date for the highly anticipated sequel to Undead Labs' zombie survival title, State of Decay, has finally been revealed to be 22 May. Not only that, but it's releasing at a rather pleasing price point.

The Standard Edition of State of Decay 2 will cost you £24.99 and pre-ordering will net you some exclusive gear. A different pack is available depending on where you pre-order, but they all contain survival supplies, a weapon and a vehicle.

​State of Decay 2: Ultimate Edition will set you back, a still reasonable, £39.99 and comes with full access to the game four days early and two future add-ons: the Independence Pack - which adds new vehicles, weapons and gear - and the Daybreak Pack - which introduces an all new game mode, map, siege facilities, missions, and a variety of events, including a Horde mode. You'll also receive a copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, which got our stamp of approval back in 2016.

Pre-orders are now live. You can grab your copy of the Standard Edition via the Microsoft Store, or get started from 18 May with the Ultimate Edition.

Alternatively, those with an active Game Pass subscription will have access from day one thanks to Microsoft's new initiative.
