Telltale's next series is unlikely to be The Wolf Among Us, new Batman could be revealed

Telltale Games have put an end to the speculation that their next title will be a sequel to The Wolf Among Us.

After a tweet promising some news during this year's San Diego Comic Con was retweeted by Adam Harrington, the voice actor for Bigby Wolf, the rumour mill went into overdrive.

However, as mentioned by Eurogamer, Harrington also plays Kroger in Tales from the Borderlands and TorqueDawg in Telltale's Minecraft: Story Mode, as well as a few other characters from various series.

​He also provides the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, which Telltale's Job Stauffer was quick to point out.

In a recent AMA on Reddit, Stauffer confirmed that there were no plans for a sequel to TWAU at present:

"While we cannot announce anything here and now or today, and wouldn't dare get anyone's hopes up too high or speak out of synch with our partners at DC/WB/Vertigo --- what we can is this: "WE HEAR YOU!"

"We have also been asked over and over again for some insight into the mystery at the end of the finale for TWAU. Something I've always wanted to admit is that while we do have a clear answer to who was who at the end of that story... we had also agreed to keep it a mystery for the fans to ponder on their own. Definitely fun to see all of the theories pour out, and exciting to pay off our neon-noir story with a femme fatale twist.

Should we ever continue in the world of Fables and The Wolf Among Us... it is generally agreed upon here that we wouldn't continue that storyline directly, and would leave things an open mystery that's better left unanswered...."

He also had this to say when asked about a follow up to Tales from the Borderlands:

"While there are currently no plans for us to continue the story on the Telltale side, we do know that our friends at Gearbox and 2K are hard at work on what's next for the Borderlands universe. We know that also means if anything happens Rhys, Fiona and the gang... the ball is in their court to see whether they will or will not be explored again in any possible future entry into that universe. We're big fans of Borderlands as well, obviously, so here's hoping Tales isn't the last we'll ever see of those characters!"

A Neogaf user believes that the teaser could be related to a listing on the New Zealand Film and Labelling Body website for Batman: The Enemy Within - Season Pass. It's directed by Kent Mudle, a director at Telltale Games who has previously worked on Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Michonne and Game of Thrones series.

We should find out more during San Diego Comic Con which runs from 20 - 23 July.
