The third instalment in Stoic’s turn based strategy series will see the light of day thanks to reaching its Kickstarter goal of $200,000 in less than a week. According to the development team, Banner Saga 3 will have players embarking on “their final journey beyond the wall of Darkness to traverse a world unlike anything encountered in previous sagas,” and will feature “beautifully hand drawn” art like the previous two games in the series.
John Watson, co-founder and Technical Director at Stoic, expressed his gratitude to the all the people who helped the game reach its funding target: “We’re thrilled to have funded the Kickstarter in less than a week. Once again it’s down to the amazing support of the community, and we truly appreciate every backer that has helped us reach our funding goal. This is huge for us and we have now revealed the first stretch goal! A big thanks again to all of our supporters for helping us get this far.” This is the second time Stoic have turned to crowd funding in order to get a project underway after the first Banner Saga was successfully funded back in 2012 to the tune of $723,886.
