Manhattan has been hit by a devastating snowstorm, and agents of the The Division receive intel about some powerful anti-viral drugs left behind in the Dark Zone which could help to fight the pandemic. Before they can reach their destination, the agents' chopper is taken down by the weather.
Players will have to manage cold, disease, hunger and thirst on their way to the objective. Survival will mean finding warm clothes, crafting supplies and scavenging for food, water and medicine. Easier said than done when there are 23 other agents competing for limited resources.

Take a look at the trailer below.
Aside from the hostile environment, players will also have to deal with a new enemy. The Hunter is a swift, highly advanced foe who proudly displays the watches of the agents he's killed.

Survival will allow you to choose either PvP or PvE. In PvP, the Rogue mechanic does not apply, you can fight with or against other players in every corner of the map, including outside of the Dark Zone. PvP comes with additional risks and so players are granted a bonus multiplier to their total score as a reward.

PvE offers a lighter game and players will be unable to attack other agents, even in the Dark Zone.

The DLC goes live alongside free update 1.5, which will include a new world tier for all activities - world tier five - as well as 6 new high-end named gear pieces, 3 high-end named weapons and 12 new weapon types.

Survival is part of the season pass or can be bought separately, and launches 22 November on Xbox One and PC. PS4 users can get in on the action from 20 December.
