As well as being able to try out the recent One Tamriel update which did away with faction restrictions and added worldwide level scaling, those taking advantage of the free weekend will also be given 500 Crowns to spend in the game’s Crown Store.
PlayStation Plus is not required during the free trial, which kicks off just after midnight, while PC/Mac users will have access to it from 6pm tomorrow via Steam.

Here’s what will be available during the Free Play Weekend:

  • No Restrictions: Access to the full The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited base game
  • Free Crowns: 500 Crowns to spend in the Crown Store on fun costumes, unique pets, helpful scrolls, and more
  • Progress Retention: Any characters created, Crown Packs purchased, or Crown Store items bought, as well as any progress made during the Free Play Weekend, will carry over if the player purchases the game

Anyone taking part in the free weekend will also be eligible to register for the game’s Trip of a Lifetime competition, which offers players the chance to win an Elder Scrolls inspired holiday.

To celebrate the free weekend, Bethesda will be offering PlayStation 4 users discounts on Crown Packs and on copies of ESO, including the recently released Gold Edition, which comes bundled with the four major DLC packs, up until 24 November. A similar sale will also be available through Steam until 28 November.

Lastly, Bethesda have promised that information on an Xbox One Free Play Weekend will be released “soon”.
