SUMO Digital and SEGA have released the first video in a new series which highlights gameplay elements featured in their arcade racer, Team Sonic Racing.

A new trio, Team Rose, make their debut in the trailer and we also see footage of Ice Mountain, a frozen terrain that "challenges players across all skill levels," for the very first time.

Get up to speed on the new team mechanics below.

Players can give a helping hand to teammates or hinder opponents using various abilities, which will fill the Team Ultimate meter.

• Skimboost: Boost struggling teammates back into action as you drive by!
• Slingshot: Slipstream a teammate for a slingshot boost!
• Rival Takedown: Knock out highlighted opponents ahead and speed past them!
• Item Box Transfer: Send and receive Wisps with teammates anywhere on the track!
• Team Ultimate: Use Team Mechanics to fill your Team Ultimate meter and unleash a massive team boost!
