Crystal Dynamics have released a new game overview video for Marvel's Avengers, the perfect accompaniment to a recent interview with Studio Creative Director, Noah Hughes, over on the PlayStation Blog. There are two types of missions in Marvel's Avengers, Heroic and Warzone. Heroic Missions are single player outings, designed to showcase each hero as you reassemble the team through the campaign, whilst Warzone are online missions that can be played solo or with a group of up to four. After completing the introductory A-Day mission, players are free to jump straight into multiplayer, though you will be exposed to spoilers.
Progression is persistent between modes and difficulty scales depending on the size and makeup of your team. As you level up, you'll be able to unlock new abilities, some will simply increase your attack power and others will allow you change up your playstyle and build your very own roster of heroes with unique ability sets. New suits for your chosen Avengers can be purchased or unlocked but these are cosmetic only, separate from Gear and the Perks they offer. Any post-launch characters will be added free of charge to those who own the base game, though Crystal Dynamics aren't ready to go into detail just yet, with Hughes stating, "We treat each of these Heroes as wanting to be able to star in their own game…. The truth is the hardest thing is deciding which Heroes to not make.” Marvel's Avengers launches 15 May on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Stadia. What do you think of the new video?
