BioWare have released the second video in their series looking at Mass Effect: Andromeda’s core gameplay mechanics in the run up to next month’s launch, this time focusing on profiles and squad members. Profiles can be changed at any point, and can be allocated to a ‘Favorite’ slot for ease of access. Up to four Favorite slots are available in the game, each holding three skills and one profile, allowing players to switch up their playstyle on the fly. Squad members will have three active and two passive skills, and can be given commands such as defend your location, attack a certain target or rally back to you.
They can also be used to perform Power Combos, which are activated when you or a squad member ‘primes’ a group of enemies with their abilities, allowing someone else to land the killing blow. Squad members can be levelled up to focus on priming or detonating Power Combos. The next video in the gameplay series will focus on exploration in Andromeda, and you can catch up on the previous instalment, which takes an in-depth look at combat, right here. Mass Effect: Andromeda is out 21 March on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Share your thoughts on the latest gameplay video in the comments below or in the forums. Leave a Reply. |
