Fans of Deck13 Interactive's dystopian ARPG, The Surge, can get their hands on a total of 10 new weapons - provided they can wrestle them from the hands of their enemies.

The Fire and Ice Weapon Pack is free to all players and adds 5 weapons from each category. Once the DLC is installed, you'll need to check the security memo and CREO newsletter in your inventory's organiser and decipher the clues to locate the weapons, before appropriating them for yourself.

Representing fire are the new MG branded weapons. These high-tech military weapons are even deadlier versions of CREO's riot control products, offering high physical damage with low elemental damage. Repeatedly attacking humanoid enemies with these blades can result in fiery explosions.
The ice weapons are CREO's space travel testing tools. The prototypes were created to test materials in the cold blackness of space and can harness extremely low temperatures. They weren't designed for combat so they have low physical damage output but they make up for that with high elemental damage. Wielding these weapons will also provide a passive health bonus.

The Surge's upcoming premium DLC, A Walk in the Park, is set to release later this year, adding a new location along with more new weapons, enemies and a free content update that’s said to improve the end game experience for high level players.

If you're new to the game or wondering how it fares, check out our review.

Are the free weapons enough to draw you back to The Surge? Waiting on the upcoming expansion? Let us know below or over in the forums.
