Ubisoft teases new post-apocalyptic Far Cry game

Ubisoft are set to reveal the next instalment in the Far Cry series at this week’s Game Awards show.

To whet the appetite of fans, the studio has released a teaser trailer hinting at a post-apocalyptic setting. In the short video, we see the mushroom cloud of a nuclear bomb going off and destroying the seemingly idyllic mountainside setting.

From the accompanying narration, it sounds like the game will be set some years after the cataclysmic events have taken place, with mention of blue skies and a new world.

It doesn’t look like things have quite worked out for humanity in the aftermath, surprisingly, with the message of hope dashed at the end of the trailer alongside what looks like a cobbled together crossbow that fires saw blades.

A worldwide reveal will take place at The Game Awards, which airs in the early hours of Friday morning here in the UK and Europe.
