Uncharted film finishes first draft

Uncharted fans are one step closer to seeing the iconic Nathan Drake brought to the silver screen. The first draft for the Uncharted movie has been completed, according to a teaser from screenwriter Joe Carnahan’s Instagram.

“Done and Dusted” as phrased in the post, the progress of Uncharted's filmic counterpart had remained in limbo for a few months after being left on hold following the release of Uncharted 4 in May last year.

​With the start of a new year, it only seems fitting that its movie counterpart has come to fruition and a long-awaited update on the project has been published. Sony Pictures have hired Shawn Levy to work in coalition with Carnahan and direct the feature.

​Carnahan has notable experience in Hollywood film-making, producing titles such as The Grey, starring Liam Neeson, and acting as the mind behind 2010's A-Team reboot.

​Although details on the Uncharted movie remain scarce, murmours are circling the internet on who should play the leading man; Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Chris Pine are the primary big-name nominations.

Done and Dusted. Now the REAL work begins. If there's a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, 'cuz this thing is a BEAST.
