Vermintide 2 sales reach 500,000 – dedicated servers and new DLC coming next month

In less than a week the game has sold more than 500,000 copies, been watched for a total of 204 million minutes on Twitch and players have dispatched roughly 50 billion enemies. “We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts,” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. “500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”

Following the hugely successful launch, Fatshark have shared details on what’s in store in the coming months for all those players with the game’s roadmap of post-launch content.

​This month will not see any major new content, with the developer focusing instead on “tweaks, adjustments and technical improvements”. Looking ahead to April/May, players can expect to see the game’s first piece of DLC, which will add two new levels, and dedicated servers for improved stability and matchmaking.

Fatshark are also working on mod support, with the studio hoping to “get it out the door soon” once the finishing touches have been applied.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is out now on Steam, with Xbox One and PS4 versions expected to release later this year.
