Bandai Namco have revealed the intro video for the third instalment of the Dark Souls series. There's also details about the three special editions available for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

The trailer below introduces new characters that you'll meet on your travels through Lothric. Yhorm the Giant, Aldrich Saint of the Deep and Farron’s Undead Legion are just some of the nasties you'll have to face.
The series is famed for its difficulty and somewhat unique approach to story telling. Rather than bombard you with a plethora of lore about the world you inhabit and the denizens that reside there you are instead drip-fed little nuggets of info, gained from dialogue with NPCs and finding items throughout your quest. This latest entry seems to be just as full of mystery and intrigue.
The Apocalypse Edition (only available through pre-order) will net you -
  • Game
  • Metal case
  • Official Soundtrack CD

The Collector's Edition gives you -
  • Game
  • Red Knight figurine
  • A4 DARK SOULS Trilogy hardcover artbook
  • Metal case
  • Official Soundtrack CD
  • 3x iron-on patches
  • Cloth game-map
  • Exclusive box

And for the most hardcore fans the Prestige Edition contains -
  • Game
  • A numbered 40cm premium Lord of Cinder hand-painted polystone resin figurine
  • Red Knight figurine
  • A4 DARK SOULS Trilogy hardcover artbook Metal case
  • Official Soundtrack CD
  • 3x iron-on patches
  • Cloth game-map
  • Exclusive display box

The Prestige Edition, which will set you back £299.99, is sold out on Amazon UK. If you're looking for cheaper options the Collector's Edition is still available at £94.99 and the Apocalypse Edition (only available from GAME) is £49.99 for consoles and £39.99 on PC.

The final chapter in the atmospheric RPG is set to release on the 12th April.
