Hi-Rez Studios have announced a turn based strategy game based on their free-to-play MOBA, SMITE, and you can sign up for the closed beta now.

SMITE Tactics will see you strategically deploy minions across the battlefield as well as the gods that will lead them. Every unit comes equipped with unique abilities and players build their armies prior to battle using a collectible card system.

“We’ve always wanted to expand the SMITE universe,” said Scott Lussier, Lead Designer on SMITE Tactics.

“SMITE has millions of fans worldwide, and with SMITE Tactics, players will get to experience mythological warfare from a whole new perspective, overseeing battles as their favorite gods and goddesses while wielding their signature abilities.”

Tactics will feature ranked 1 on 1 battles and various adventure modes versus AI.

If you want to go hands-on before release, you can sign up for the closed beta, which is due to start before the end of the year.
