Xbox One users will soon be able to gift digital games to friends

Microsoft are apparently planning to add a feature on Xbox One that will allow users to purchase a game digitally and then gift it to a friend.

That’s according to a Tweet from Xbox Vice President Mike Ybarra, who, when asked by someone how far away we were from seeing the feature added to Xbox One, replied, “not far.” PC users have been able to gift games via Steam for a while now, but this will be the first time such a feature has appeared on any Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo console.

No other details were shared by Ybarra, but with the ‘gift to a friend’ feature currently sitting at nearly 5000 votes on Xbox’s suggest a feature page, it’s clearly something many users want to see implemented.
