Ubisoft have announced plans to introduce a competitive multiplayer mode into their upcoming open world tactical shooter. The publisher was a little more forthcoming with details on the game’s season pass, which will include two major expansions. These are the vehicle focussed Narco Road, where players must face off against a gang of smugglers in “crazy races and challenges” in order to bring them down from the inside, and Fallen Ghost, in which players must adapt and learn new skills as they are pursued by a “new powerful enemy.” The pass grants a couple of passive bonuses in the form a permanent 5% XP boost and a onetime 50% XP boost that lasts for two hours, and also gives any squad members a 25% boost.
Also included are The Unidad Conspiracy missions and the Peruvian Connection pack, along with some Faction themed equipment packs which you can read about below.

Nindies Supporting Switch!1/3/2017 Yesterday afternoon Nintendo made the joyous announcement that they’ve partnered with a number of indie developers, in an effort to ensure the Switch has a flurry of top-quality content on a regular basis - something the poor old Wii U never could quite muster. Choice Provisions have also dazzled us with their naming prowess, as they announced Runner 3, the third in the fabulous BIT.TRIP RUNNER series. The game will feature the hardcore platformer/rhythm gameplay crossover the series is famous for, and will be an exclusive to the Switch when it launches this autumn. Team 17 have been good enough to confirm Playtonic’s highly-anticipated return to 3d platforming with Yooka-Laylee, Ghost Town Games fantastic culinary local multiplayer masterpiece Overcooked and their very own prison break sequel The Escapists 2, which will all launch for the system this year. The self-explanatory Blaster Master Zero, 2D fighter Pocket Rumble, ghoulish adventure Flipping Death, action game Mr Shifty, RPG Stardew Valley and Advance Wars-esque strategy title WarGroove are just some of the other games announced. You can see the full list here, or check out the showcase in full below. Let us know what you think of the Switch's indie support in the comments section below or over on the forums. EA and DICE have detailed the expansions included in the Battlefield 1 premium pass, which will further expand upon the game’s multiplayer by adding new game modes, 16 new maps, 20 new weapons and new Elite classes. EA did not reveal a release window for the remaining expansions, but did give us an insight into their contents. In the Name of the Tsar will see the Russian army added to the fold, Turning Tides introduces naval themed battles and maps, while Apocalypse is set to the backdrop of some of the “most infamous battles of WW1.” Battlefield 1 is currently up to 60% off in the EA publisher sale, and the company also announced a free trial is set to take place this weekend on Xbox One, with Xbox Live Gold members able to download and play the entirety of the game’s single and multiplayer offerings between 3 – 5 March. Origin users will also be able to try the game for free thanks to a new 10-hour trial, which gives access to all of Battlefield 1’s multiplayer modes on two maps and the first two War Stories from the single player campaign. Here’s the official blurbs for the three expansions mentioned above: In the Name of the Tsar “Enter the biggest front of WW1 with the Russian Army. Ride in Galicia with the legendary Hussars during the Brusilov offensive. Partake in the skirmishes of the Albion assault in a freezing archipelago and fight in the snow-covered ravines of the treacherous Lupkow Pass.” Turning Tides “Participate in the amphibious warfare of WW1. Embark with the new destroyer into intense tactical naval clashes. Master the coastal class airship in the fierce interplay between land, air and sea. Engage in the daredevil Zeebrugge raid and storm the beaches in the first days of the Gallipoli offensive.” Apocalypse “Go over the top in the most infamous battles of WW1. Conquer bitterly contested ground with brutal tools and unique weapons born out of desperation and deadlock. Never before have the nightmarish horrors of the Great War been closer as you descend into hell. Prepare to enter the Apocalypse.”
