Earthfall Invasion update now available - adds horde mode, progression system

Holospark have detailed the latest update for their co-operative shooter, Earthfall, which rolled out across all platforms earlier this week.

The Invasion Update introduces players to a new mode, Invasion, in which they fend off waves of alien attacks. Surviving a wave allows you to unlock perks, buffs and more powerful weapons that can be used to help weather the upcoming onslaught. The mode features four maps in total: Raven’s Roost, Nuclear Facility, The Mines, and Precious Cargo.

The new progression system introduces “over 50 levels of new cosmetic and player abilities” that can be unlocked by completing in-game tasks. Rewards include the ability to dual-wield MP5s, a self-revive ability and a perk that sees you shove a grenade down a threshers’ throat to escape when pinned.

​Also arriving with the update are improved weapon sounds, created by renowned Hollywood studio, Formosa Group, whose credits include Deadpool 2, John Wick 3, Blade Runner: 2049, Uncharted, God of War and The Last of Us.

The Invasion Update is available now for free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
