The new mission – which comes as part of the first Special Operation update included in Wildlands’ Year 2 content - sees Sam Fisher (role reprised by Michael Ironside) make his way to Bolivia to infiltrate the Santa Cruz Unidad Camp. Players will be able to aid Fisher either solo or in co-op, in what’s being described as “one of the most difficult missions the Ghosts have ever faced.”
“We are all super excited to bring such an iconic character as Sam Fisher into Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” said Nouredine Abboud, Senior Producer at Ubisoft.

“Teaming up with Sam Fisher will require the Ghosts’ stealth, cleverness and tactics…we can’t wait to see the reactions of our players as they face this new challenge!”

Rewards for successfully completing the mission include Fisher’s iconic sonar goggles and other cosmetic items, though these can only be earned before 16 May. After that, players won’t receive any special rewards for completing the mission.

Further customisation options are available through the paid for Splinter Cell Gear Pack, or through the Year 2 content pass.

Those with the pass will also have a week’s early access to the new Ghost War class, Echelon. This Splinter Cell-inspired class features high-tech gadgets such as a Sonar Pulse that allows players to spot enemies through nearby walls.

If you’re interested in giving the new mission a try, you can download and play the game across all platforms for free this weekend, from 12 – 15 April.
