THQ Nordic have announced plans to bring Interceptor Entertainment’s platformer to Xbox One and PS4, though sadly there’s no news of a Switch version for the moment. Rad Rogers follows the story of a boy and his sentient games console as they fight their way through a host of enemies and levels after a vortex pulls them into a living game world.
Heavily influenced by 90s platformers such as Commander Keen, Conker, Ruff'n'Tumble & Jazz Jackrabbit, Rad Rodgers features “action-packed, humour-filled, hardcore platforming fun,” all set to a suitably retro inspired soundtrack. Rad Rodgers is out 21 February on Xbox One and PS4 and has an RRP of €19.99 (or regional equivalent). Dark Souls isn’t the only remaster to be announced today, after Ubisoft decided to get in on the act by revealing an upgraded version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be making its way to Xbox One, PS4 and PC this spring. Both previously released story expansions, The Armor of Sir Gunn Quest and The Siege of Fort de Sable, will be included in the remaster, as well as the Explorer and Master Templar packs, each of which feature many cosmetic and weapon items. There’s even a special Assassin’s Creed Origins memento included in the form of Bayek’s legacy outfit.
Xbox One X and PS4 Pro users can also look forward to playing the game in higher resolutions thanks to the presence of 4K support. Assassin’s Creed Rogue is out 20 March on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Those rumours you might have heard swirling are indeed accurate, with Nintendo confirming that a Dark Souls remaster is heading to Switch in today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, which also revealed a number of other titles coming to the hybrid console in quick-fire fashion. Further highlights of the Direct Mini included a couple more Wii U hits making their way over to Switch in the form of Hyrule Warriors and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which will launch sometime in spring and 4 May respectively. The former arrives on Switch as a Definitive Edition of the game, including all content from both the Wii U and 3DS versions, plus some extra customisation options in the form of Breath of the Wild-inspired outfits for Zelda and Link, while Tropical Freeze has a new addition in the form of Funky Kong, who can breeze through levels thanks to his special moves and surfboard. As well as appearing in Tropical Freeze, DK is set to make his debut in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle sometime this spring as part of the game’s latest DLC, which includes new story missions specifically based around Mario’s iconic frenemy. There’s also a free online challenge coming to Super Mario Odyssey in which players can either hide or attempt to find balloons placed around the game’s levels by other players as quickly as possible, in what Nintendo is calling “objective-based speed running”, and we also got solid release dates for both Kirby Star Allies (16 March) and Payday 2 (23 February), with Payday getting a timed exclusive heister. Other notable titles mentioned in the Direct include a Switch remaster of the DS title The World Ends with You, YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, SNK Heroines: Tag Team, Celeste, and Fe, Zoink Games’ mystical platformer that’s coming to Switch 16 February. You can check the Direct out in full below if you want to see any of the games in action. Watch the Omensight teaser trailer10/1/2018 The team behind Stories: The Path of Destinies, Spearhead Games, have released a teaser trailer for an upcoming time-bending narrative-based adventure title. Serving as "the eyes and sword of Urralia", you'll identify characters who may have played a key role. By participating in events from different perspectives, you'll glean useful information about what transpired and how specific decisions played out.
The Harbinger's sword techniques and time slowing spells can dispatch threats or you can use the power of Omensight to weave a new narrative and give the inhabitants of Urralia a second chance. “When we released Stories: The Path of Destinies in 2016, we were thrilled with the response to its narrative structure,” says Malik Boukhira, Creative Director on Omensight. “Players told us how they enjoyed manipulating time to collect all the different endings in the game. With Omensight, our new original title set in a fresh universe, we’re taking this idea one step further. What we like to call the ‘narrative puzzle’ will extend to a range of diverse characters in Omensight, and we can’t wait to see how players navigate the intricacies of these characters’ actions and reactions to solve the mystery of Urralia’s demise.” The game’s script is being worked on by a team whose previous credentials include Prey, Fallout: New Vegas, Torment: Tides of Numenera and The Holders Dominion, and also features voice actors who have appeared in Breath of the Wild and We Happy Few. Omensight is set to release on PC sometime during 2018. Let us know what you think of the teaser below or over in the forums. Enchantress joins the Injustice 2 roster10/1/2018 The powerful sorceress is the latest character to be added to Injustice 2's already hefty crowd. Also included in Fighter Pack 3 are The Atom, who released last month, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You'll have to wait a little bit longer for the heroes in a half shell, who appear to function as a foursome, similar to Mortal Kombat X's Triborg.
