One the most requested games for backwards compatibility, Red Dead Redemption, is finally playable on Xbox One. Sort of. It appears that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Alan Wake: American Nightmare are playable using the same method and a couple more games are apparently coming our way, Left 4 Dead and Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night.
Halo Wars, Skate 3, Call Of Duty: Black Ops and the Bioshock trilogy have also been confirmed. Major Nelson recently announced that backwards compatible titles will now be made available as and when they are ready, rather than releasing a handful every month. And, since November of last year, all Xbox 360 Games With Gold offerings will be backwards compatible too. Let us know your thoughts in the forums. If you're looking for updates, the development team are keeping people informed via Twitter. In the popular open world zombie survival game you start off as a lone survivor with nary a thing but the clothes on your back. Through scavenging and robbing other players you can acquire new clothes, weapons and the food and drink you'll need to sustain yourself. There has been a lot added since it's launch on Stream's Early Access program - hunting, drivable vehicles, gardening and contagious diseases to name a few - and there's even more to come, with flying vehicles and the ability to build fortifications penned for release this year. The hotly anticipated console release of DayZ was put back until the first quarter of 2016 but when asked about it on Twitter recently the developers stated, "We have no console related news at this time." Are you worried the leak? Longing for a console release? Let us know in the forums. It seems Star Wars Battlefront won't be the only current-generation game set in a galaxy far, far away for long, as it's been announced that TT Games have a new LEGO Star Wars title in the works. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also include exclusive new story content that bridges the gap between Return of the Jedi and the latest movie. This means the game will be the only place to officially discover what occurred in the time between Episodes VI and VII, after Disney declared all previous extended fiction set during this period non-canon. Players will also be treated to new gameplay features: Blaster Battles look set to add much needed depth to the shooting mechanics as the environment becomes key in defeating the First Order, whilst Multi-Builds allow players a choice in what they build for the first time. Arena-based air-combat will also see a series return. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled for release this summer, 28 June, for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC. Check out the announce teaser below. Looking forward to seeing The Force Awakens story retold with the classic LEGO humour? Rainbow Six Siege DLC drops tomorrow2/2/2016 The first DLC pack for Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled to release tomorrow. Leaked pictures allegedly show the abilities of the two operators. The attacker, Buck, has an under barrel shotgun attachment on his primary weapon. Defender, Frost, meanwhile has a mechanical trap she can use to incapacitate enemies. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see whether the leaks are legitimate.
Ubisoft plan on expanding the shooter even further, with another three DLC bundles coming between now and October. It seems likely that each batch will give us two new operators and one new map. The developer also stated that new game modes would be headed our way too. As you’d expect, considerable changes have been made to the UI in order to make it easier to navigate with a controller. They've also added a couple of console exclusive features, including the ability to jump straight into a pre-made prison in Prison Warden Mode, and World Of Wardens will allow you to share your prisons with the community and try your hand at managing other people's creations.
